Its hard to tell what is going on here. But, I was checking the surf early, due to a meeting I have today. But remembering this time last year, I was prone paddling out on the sound without a wetsuit. And this year, 27 degree windchill with the wind blowing so hard out of the NW that ist is pushing the tide way out on the ocean side (but pushing it way in on the sound side)

It happened again. Full internet outage (internet, cell, landline, 911).Thankful for info that came over RadioHatteras and ham radio. If you dont already listen to Radio Hatteras, you should. They bring important information when most needed.
Also, using Winlink (ham radio) allowed us to send emails out to others outside the affected area.
2nd time the fiber has been cut in the last month.

First time out in the water prone paddling since January. Been rucking on the beach to stay in shape (hiking in deep sand, at a pace less than 15, wearing a ruck pack, and carrying a 60lb sandbag on my shoulders). Good exercise. Nothing compared to prone paddling. Surfing, rucking, running, and swimming wasn't enough to get me prepared to a few miles prone paddling at speed in a wetsuit.
