NY Governor Hochul's nominee for the chief judge of the Court of Appeals (the state's supreme court) could get a vote in the full state Senate, not just the judiciary committee, as a lawsuit by senate Republicans requests - but it'd probably guarantee his defeat, as 2 of his supporters are out of town.

This whole thing makes and the Repubs both look politically incompetent.

Kathy Hochul is no more pro-choice than I am a giant lizard breathing fire upon Tokyo. What a shameful and embarrassing spectacle. Trying to push through an anti-choice judge in a progressive state after Dobbs is one of the stupidest moves I've ever seen from a blue state governor.
