Anyone know if #HumansOfNewYork is on mastodon? If not they really should be. They do amazing work elevating the voices of random passersby who are often ignored, marginalized people especially. So many of their stories regularly move me to tears.

Never forget that every person you see has their own wealth of life experiences, their own hopes and fears, their own ideology, whether good or bad. Harmful behavior and thought processes must be addressed and, if possible, altered, but there's a reason everyone comes to believe what they do. Seeing them as human, too, I believe is the first step to encouraging them to change for the better.
