This came after an incident on the first day of the tournament, according to the Associated Press.
On January 16, during the match between Russian #KamillaRakhimova and #Ukrainian #KaterinaBeindl, the fans hung out the Russian flag. Ukrainian fans responded by calling security and the police.

An unknown person raised the #Russian flag at the #Australian Open #Tennis Championships. #Belarusians and #Russians, despite appeals, were allowed to compete, but in neutral status. The Russian flag was raised during the match between Ukrainian #KaterynaBindl and Russian #KamillaRakhimova. The latter lost.
Ambassador of #Ukraine to Australia #VasylMyroshnychenko called on the organizers of the Australian Open 2023 to respond to the Russian tricolor.
