A RARE VISITOR
It is unusual to see a native pigeon in the city far from its natural haunts, but this morning one such bird flew into the Meteorological Observatory grounds at Thorndon.… The bird was tired and evidently hungry … Finding [no berries] it [left] … flying … [towards] Tinakori Hills. The native pigeon is highly protected, and is becoming rare in all parts of New Zealand.
