Uisge has a beautiful cascade of slipped stitch cables travelling from cuff to cuff up the outside of each hand, like a mini waterfall. I've loved exploring all the different patterns in my elemental mitts but I really think I saved the best till last! ⁣

Whenever I start a pair of mitts the cast-on looks so tiny there is no way you could possibly get your hand through it. I love how, once you've knit a few rounds, the stretchiness comes through and it works!

Thumb time! They only take about fifteen minutes each but for some reason, I always put off doing the thumbs. I think it's because the rounds are so short and it's a bit annoying with magic loop!

Do you have a favourite bind-off for mitts? I like mine stretchy but not too stretchy to avoid the top flaring out. My favourite is a variation on the elastic bind-off where I knit the knit stitches before knitting them together, but I just do a p2tog on the purl stitches!

I love twisted rib. It's super easy and it always looks neat. The crossed legs on the knit stitches mean they pull closed instead of open so it doesn't look gappy or stretched like 1x1 rib sometimes does.⁠

I got a tangled skein from a hand dyer friend of mine. When it was untangeld, my daughter claimed it and I created the cowl. I think it's so beautiful, I wanted to share it with everyone.

One thumb gusset is done so now it's the other mitt's turn! This pattern is super easy so once you get in the flow it flies off the needles.

Two cuffs done! I always work my mitts and socks in stages. It means I avoid second sock (or mitt) syndrome and if I make a change to one mitt, I don't have to rip back too far to change the other one!
