I enjoy the tackiness and grot of seaside holiday places. Unfortunately things do seem to be slowly going a bit more upmarket, but these little bits are still there for now!

Mind you, I have also rather unkindly thought that the journalist who wrote that apocryphal Ava Gardner quote “On the Beach is a story about the end of the world, and Melbourne sure is the right place to film it” had quite clearly never been to Lakes Entrance.
