ULA being up for sale could be a very good thing for the company - I think there a lot of opportunities for ULA to do well free of its corporate overlords, especially Boeing.
But it could also be another example of private equity buying a company to strip its assets for short-term gains and leave the company a shambling corpse.
Vulcan is likely to do a lot of business, so there is certainly long-term value in the company. But no reuse limits its future.
