Grace Papageorge (Papageorgiou) was born on the 23rd of November 1912 at Kayaköy (formerly #Levissi, #AsiaMinor) in the south-west coastal region of #Turkey close to #Fethiye (formerly #Macri). She was of #Greek descent, her family having settled in that region many generations prior to her birth. Grace's father was conscipted into the #Ottoman army. He was never seen again.
