It was very brave, at the time, for a Hollywood actor so young and so early in his career to take that role. I mean Matthew Broderick, the spring chicken.

Mind you, looking back at Harvey Fierstein…. At the time I thought he was ancient. (Was it his voice?) He, too was a spring chicken. Or a summer chicken.
