Day 10 (last day)

A monarch dines on Tithonia as a rival species (Queen butterfly) buzzes the monarch. Both of these lay eggs on milkweeds, and they're also in competition with two kinds of moth which do the same: the Milkweed Tussock and the Unexpected Cycnia.

Okay, a coupla things...
There's been, on the one hand, interest on here for my postings.

On the other hand, there's been interest in getting the back together on here.

On the one leg, I used to post on Google Plus...therefore....

....looks like I'm about to resurrect my G+ Backyard Zoo gallery for on here.

Day 6

It doesn't always happen this way but over 90% of the time it does--an egg hatches and the first meal the monarch hatchling has is his egg shell.

Day 4
I call this monarch a member of the Whitedot Tribe because all tribe members has an extra white dot all by itself in a particular cell of its forewings.

This one, posted just in time for Valentine's Day, sports that special white dot but it's in the shape of a heart.

Looks like there's a "challenge" drive on Facebook that desires to produce image content on that platform, and it's the where you're expected to post one photo of your own sighting per day for 10 days.

Not gonna do it on Facebook but I'll happily do that on Mastodon.

DAY ONE:
A caterpillar found with what looked like wound markings comes to adulthood in perfect shape
