Hey @Mastodon #mastodondevs is it possible to allow use of the Hawaiian ‘Okina (‘) character in hash tags?
I want #Mālama‘Āina to work, it looks like it will work, but when posted, it cuts the tag down to just #Mālama.
An ‘okina is not like a quote ' or a backtick ` ‘okina serve a different purpose, as a glottal stop, like what's in the middle of the word uh-oh (uh‘oh!) xD, ‘okina are considered a consonant in ‘Ōlelo Hawai‘i.

Here's a crazy thing that I do with a friend.
Every Sunday, we chop down 8ft tall invasive guinea grass on the Ka‘awaloa Trail. If we don't do this, it only takes a few weeks for the top half mile of the trail to completely grow over, forcing hikers to push through the grass. Guinea grass has little barbed teeth on the edges that can cut any uncovered skin. I've been cut on my arms, legs, face, and forehead. It stings for a few days afterward.
