The law which regulates maritime law in the United Arab Emirates is the Federal Law No. 26 of 1981 (Maritime Code). Disputes in the maritime sector are common and could arise out of a breach of the terms of the contract or damage to the goods in the cargo. I took a class this semester on IUU fishing so wanted to do a primer thread and give some further sources.
IUU fishing is a problem at the intersection of maritime law and international law, that isn't on the radar of the general public.
