Do replies be me & others get covered by the original post’s hashtags, or do they each need to repeat/include the hash?

I've noticed many folks reply with "#public" setting; I have been using "#unlisted" to be kind to #timelines, but then I notice that I get little #engagement (lower than I'd expect given others engagement for similar comments).

what's the temperature on replying with public vs unlisted? 💙
