Here's a good comparison between the new and the old. Look at the coastline of Italy. #Meteosat12 will have a best resolution of 500m (and that's from a vantage point of 36,000km!) @ESA_EO @eumetsat

One of the big improvements on #Meteosat12 is simply its resolution. The pictures are much crisper, and this will enable forecasters to follow better the emergence and evolution of storms. @ESA_EO @eumetsat
