Whenever I hear the theme song for #MidnightDiner I tear up. This is such a great show and more episodes needs to be made. #Netflix step your game!

I've said it before, Midnight Diner is one of the best TV series online right now. No calmer way to end the day than by watching an episode in bed before falling asleep. 🍜
"Goofy and gently sad, Midnight Diner liberates you from angry politics, trashy reality stars & dramas about serial killers. It lands you in a universe where, even if bad things happen, the world is manageable and essentially benevolent."
After watching #midnightdiner we got our first rice cooker. Korean, small and fantastic. Butter Rice, Cat Rice, brown rice mmmmm

Netflix is purging #midnightdiner (the original three seasons). Its last day is this Wednesday 31 May.
Kind reader, do you know how to watch back episodes of Japanese television shows?
Just discovered butter rice after watching #midnightdiner on #netflix. It has been a joy watching the series. Can’t stop humming the song.
Here's the first #TalesofaBlacksmith #shortstory! Inspired by #MidnightDiner it's a heartwarming tale about a Goblin blacksmith connecting with his customers. This is a #collaboration between #ChatGPT and myself.
I am the Editor/Producer/Narrative Designer for this project.

Omoide is the beautiful song by Tsunekichi Suzuki that opens every episode of Midnight Diner. Sets the perfect mood. 🎶

After quite some time, I have found a TV series that I enjoy.
"Midnight Diner" is a Japanese series from 2009. An episode or two watched before bedtime has become a calming ritual to end the day. Highly recommended. 👌
Available on Netflix.

Ok. Green tea rice with toppings is good.
Butter rice with soy is … weirdly fucking amazing.

When people finish their day and hurry home, my day starts.
My diner opens from midnight to seven in the morning.
They call it "Midnight Diner".
That's all I have on my menu. But I make whatever customers request as long as I have ingredients for it.
That's my policy.
Do I even have customers? More than you would expect.

If I watch too much TV, it would mean less time spent on reading, and other hobbies 😁
Anyway, I'm still slowly savoring #Makanai and enjoying it as much as I did #MidnightDiner.
I was two days ago old when I found out there was not just one, but two Midnight Diner movies that just didn't happen to be on Netflix, and thanks to an impulse purchase on that day tonight's movie night is going to be excellent. #midnightdiner #movienight

@Kitchenstorey @Brilliantcrank all are very japanese slice of life type stories. I binged #themakanai in a couple of days. Again, very calming and educational. Had to stop every so often and google the vocab. e.g. Okini for thank you in the dialect rather than Arigato or Domo Arigato. And it's quite Kyoto/Gion centric but features dishes from the districts the girls are from.
#whatdidyoueatyesterday is different. A gay closeted lawyer is in a relationship with a flamboyant (japanese style so don't expect Rupaul) hairdresser and how food is their glue and love language and how it also brings the lawyer and his parents closer. This series is like gay social commentary through food.
#izakayabottakuri is just foodcentric but again slice of life of two sisters who run their father's izzakaya. The miso cured yolks are a must do.
Through #midnightdiner my staples have become the #tonjiru (pork belly veg miso soup) and through #themakanai I did a passable #oyakodon
#themakanai #whatdidyoueatyesterday #izakayabottakuri #midnightdiner #tonjiru #oyakodon
With reference to my last tweet, #themakanai is about trainee maiko/geisha in Tokyo who become the cooks in the training school. #midnightdiner is about a 'mastah' who remains unnamed throughout the series but is a central 'yoda' to all the people who come through his little diner which only opens at midnight till 7am and #whatdidyoueatyesterday is food as social commentary about being a gay couple in Japan centred around a gay couple. And #izakayabottakuri is about an old family owned #izakaya essentially a Japanese #tapasbar and the dishes her family makes. Engrossing and entertaining and enlightening. #netflix well done

#themakanai #midnightdiner #whatdidyoueatyesterday on #netflix are some of the most absorbing stories centred on Japanese food with social commentary that I've ever watched and if you haven't give them a whirl! #foodwithsocialcommentary I've learnt so much about Japanese food and how easy many dishes are to prepare! E.g. #battahrisu (butter rice) must be the perfect accompaniment to ANY Asian dish. Just a small dollop of butter and a couple of drops of soya sauce ON HOT #RICE ! HEAVEN.

Is anyone else a huge fan of #MidnightDiner ? It’s such a beautifully written show.
Me: Aaaah, the beginning of holiday break -- maybe I'll start watching a show I've never watched before.
Netflix: Because you've watched #MidnightDiner...
Me: *starts watching Midnight Diner for the 500th time*
(it's the TV equivalent of comfort food...)
