12. A game that changed your perspective about #TTRPG

I would say #MonsterOfTheWeek
That game was my first step into the #PBTA world. And boy I was ... perplexed? At first. Then I saw how it helped the GM with a low-preparation effort and a shared world-building during game.

That game also showed me that I could write things for TTRPG, and that people could like them.

This game has a special place in my heart for opening those two doors.

@Acantigue Welcome home! #BladesInTheDark is a great game (so is its sci-fi cousin #ScumAndVillainy). I played both and would love to return to them one of these days.

Right now though, I’m playing #DnD, #CyberpunkRED, #SavageWorlds and #MonsterOfTheWeek.

Tonight's #MonsteroftheWeek game was postponed until next Saturday, so instead, I'm teaching myself how to play #Pathfinder2e. I know they are at opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to #TTRPGs, but I want to learn all sorts of games. Plus, I need to be ready in case any of my school gaming club students decide they want to try it. #MotW

Schöne #MonsterOfTheWeek Session heute. Erst zünftiger Kampf mit einer Rotkappe in einem Steinkreis an der Schwelle zum Feenreich, dann Verhandlung mit Oberon, König der Feen. Die Stadt Handfast hat nun Ruhe und ist der Rache der Feen entgangen, alles wieder gut. Mal abgesehen davon, dass das entführte Kind als letzte Bezahlung für den nun beendeten Vertrag bei Oberon verbleibt. #pnpde

Day 15, favorite convention one-shot

I never played in convention as a player, but I did organized some event and I prepared a one shot of Monster of the Week, based in a SCP containment complex where the players are hunted by SCP-096 after one of them saw their picture in a confidential file and it was really a fun one to play

Meine #pnpde Woche hat noch einige Unbekannte. Schauen wir mal, ob wir Mittwoch endlich unser #MonsterOfTheWeek Abenteuer zu Ende gespielt bekommen. Letzte Session war im Juni, ich fürchte fast, die Kampagne verhungert langsam. Hinter dem #DnD5E #LostMineOfPhandelver Termin am Freitag steht auch noch ein dickes Fragezeichen.

So excited to run more monster of the week I added it into my evening rotation almost every night. Like all my games, I've only run the starter mystery but I've done it 6+ times now. I'm ready to branch out and try other mysteries.
I've got a lot of content to go through but I'm excited to work on my own mysteries also.

Time for #GamerWorkingGroup's #MonsterOfTheWeek with poorly drawn maps in Google Jamboard.

@glitchontwitch @rivetgeek #Fate doesn't normally have natures or classes, and it certainly doesn't have playbooks—every character is a unique and delicate snowflake based on what Aspects and Stunts you choose for them.

This is arguably an advantage for #MonsterOfTheWeek, that characterization is so neatly channeled from description to abilities that the character created will mesh perfectly with the action.

#Fate is by comparison an off-roading experience over broken ground.

Finally received my #monsteroftheweek Codex of Worlds reward!... from the woman down the street. Thought FedEx fucked up but then went on Backerkit to find out that the shipping team changed my address to be wrong before shipping???? Like I have the last email from when I changed it to make sure it was correct, and then the confirmation email when it shipped where my street number has been changed to my flat number and my flat number is gone.

I've been reading Monster of the Week, it's really good! Lots of great advice for planning, structuring and improvising scenarios and campaigns.

Other than that it just looks like a really fun game. It understands the source material (Buffy, Supernatural, etc) well and does a great job giving players ways to interact with that.

This is a strong contender for a future open table campaign at the FLGS.
