Monterey Police Department reported people driving at speeds of 94mph and 87mph the past two days in Lighthouse Ave tunnel (where limit is 40mph, TMK https://monterey.municipal.codes/Code/20-40).

"My car week tradition for the last few years has been to commit to biking to work each day. Since moving late last year, my bike commute grew from 10 to 15 miles each way, and I'm sad to say I hadn't tried it since the move. I gave it a shot this week and am happy to report that it is still totally doable! I didn't realize how much I had missed commuting by bike!"

We've asked #MontereyCounty Health Department & Transportation Agency for #Monterey County to team up on getting word out to #HealthCare providers in the county that TAMC has free bike racks, lockers & repair stations. Often we've biked to a PT appt, etc. only to find nowhere to lock our bike.
Hartnell Professional Center, Monterey (which houses #Community Hospital of the #MontereyPeninsula / #CHOMP #PhysicalTherapy & other medical offices) DOES have a bike rack. They also have picnic tables, benches, shade trees. :)
Sadly, many benches have been removed from City of Monterey public spots (e.g., USPS Post Office & Alvarado Street).
