#MyDeGoogleJourney Day 7- Google Voice
I’ve had a voice number for over 20 years? I am not sure how I am going to #DeGoogle this part of my life. If I lost a phone I could easily reestablish the number for authentication codes, etc without changing every account to a new phone number. Now, this thought is creating angst.
Will #Signal be part of a new way for contact when they implement user names? Will there ever be a bridge to legacy phone systems?
Thoughts? What did you do?

#MyDeGoogleJourney Day 5 - What alternatives to Google Maps do you use?
On my phone I have Apple Maps and Here WeGo. Honestly I don’t know much about Apple Maps.
I have been using Here WeGo after reading about it here in the Fediverse. It isn’t perfect, but I really enjoy being able to zoom out and see a larger map. If I know the area I don’t need the hyper micro tourist view.
I do wish it would alert me to slow down ahead of sharp curves.

My DeGoogle Journey Day 0
I have been a Google fan ever since they opened up Gmail to the public (25 years ago?). I have several gmail addresses, use Docs, Drive, Sheets, Voice, along with the usual youtube and etc … I’m heavy into it so …
My journey may not match your experience. You may have a difference of opinion. That is great that we can express it here in the Fediverse and not get huffy about it!
Cheers! Here’s to your journey!
