Yesterday our guests arrived from Naturetrek Wildlife Holidays to witness the amazing European Honey Buzzard migration here !

We stopped at our chosen watchpoint on the way to the accommodation as the wind dropped and a flow of 148 European Honey Buzzards cruised over our heads in just 30 mins!

#Llanos alive with Great and Little Bustards as Pin-tailed Sandgrouse flew over amongst skies full of #Eagles and #Vultures.

Some other highlights included Eurasian Scop’s Owl, Red-necked Nightjars, some lush views of mountain #Birds like this #Rock #Bunting, European Bee-eaters everywhere! and European Rollers ! 😊

Whilst we’ve been in the flow of soaring #Bird #Migration this week with guests from Naturetrek Wildlife Holidays we’ve also had some great experiences with the massive colony of Collared #Pratincoles noisily fending off potential #predators, while Kentish #Plovers scuttled among them, copulating Lesser Kestrels and on the sea beautiful encounters with Long-finned Pilot Whales !

This visibly exhausted Short-toed #Eagle crossing in over guests from Naturetrek Wildlife Holidays - they must come here, the narrowest point btwn #Africa & #Europe, at just #14km it still clearly presents a huge challenge !
