Whoever thought ‘amplify ambience sounds over noise cancelling’ was a good alternative to turning #NoiseCancelling off has clearly never worn headphones outside and/or deserves to be fired. Way to ruin otherwise good and comfortable headphones. 😠

I've been using Uvex Whisper (orange, medium) earplugs for years now. I bought a back of 50 well back before I came out as trans & I'm only just now down to the last few.
I've now ordered a batch of Uvex Whisper+ (green, medium) earplugs, which I expect to last me easily another 5+ years.
I had given Loops Quiet a try, but none of the sizes fit my ears snuggly & the noise-cancelling is noticeably inferior to Uvex earplugs.

Basically ear muffs (like for shooting or industrial work) with headphone speakers in them.
Everything I find is either ear muffs, or noise cancelling headphones, but not the specific combo of both.
I've seen a few bluetooth enabled ear muffs but I'm skeptical of them.

Interesting. I would think that if the issue is noise then the #NoiseCancelling feature would be useful here. So you guys keep NC off eh? 🤔
I'm leaning towards using a in-ear/earbud headset 🎧🎤 in combination with an app* that supposedly amplifies conversations (volume is adjustable, of course) but can supposedly also reduce ambient noise. Never tried it yet though...
