It is backstory and quite complex so at times took some thinking about. I know all the details but the tricky thing is knowing how to tell it, what to include and what to leave out

I don't know where I'm going with this not-so-short fiction

I think I have worked up enough speed to get airborne on the novel I'm meant to be writing, which was the whole point of the exercise

Best to leave this one here for now, perhaps, and get serious about the next novel
