#PitchWars and #PitMad were fantastic opportunities for building a #WritingCommunity. Does anyone know of anything or anyone that have risen up to take their place. Is there anything like it yet on Mastodon?

All the scientists have flocked to Mastodon. Especially in #neuroscience, one of my favorite hashtags to follow.

Now the journalists are flocking to Mastodon.

And who remains on Twitter? Lots and lots of fiction writers, the people who tweet #writingcommunity #amwriting #pitmad #writing. Editorial agents, publishers, authors of fiction.

I wonder, with Elon working hard to tank #Twitter, will #pitmad eventually move over to Masto?

@Liveotherwise That's great that you've gotten personalized feedback, but yeah, editors and agents can be a fickle bunch. Yesterday, I shared a kill letter post I received once for an anthology submission that had already been accepted. If you believe in your work, keep submitting. Also, keep a look out for the #pitmad and related hashtag posts. It was a great way to direct market your work on the bird site. I'm curious to see if it migrates here. #AmQuerying

I'm interested in recreating events like #PitMad and #PitchWars here on #Mastodon. If you're interested too and feel you have something to contribute let's be mutuals?

If you are on birdsite, try #pitmad. It usually happens 4 times a year, next one is probably going to be in march (site hasn't updated it's calendar for 2020). It's an open pitch thing, agents and editors will be watching for pitches on Twitter and 'like' your tweet if they want you to submit to them.

If you can, go to book expos and writing cons. *DONT* pitch to agents at the expo unless they ask. Meet people, make friends, learn shit.

Likes are only for agents to show they’re interested in seeing more of that story!

I don't have a novel manuscript at this point, so I won't be participating in #pitmad, but I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it to learn *how* to pitch for when the time comes that I'll be doing it too.
