Platanistasa Village, located in the Nicosia district of Cyprus

The village lies 934 metres above sea level and receives plenty of rain, as well a steady stream of water flowing from the Troodos Mountains. The village therefore has an abundance of water, which allows many flowers to be on display, a feature of the village.

Platanistasa Village, located in the Nicosia District of Cyprus

The outside metal spiral staircase was once a common feature in the villages houses of Cyprus. The metal grill locked doors provided security, whilst the panels behind could remain open, to allow cool fresh air to enter during the night.
