Great Albums - 1970s: #RadioBirdman – Radios Appear (1977). Before punk even had a name, these Sydney rebels channeled The Stooges in an orgy of calamitous bliss. Their debut LP covers “T.V. Eye” and revs the engine on “Murder City Nights” and “Descent into the Maelstrom.” More dynamic than the usual first-wave punks, they chill ever so slightly on “Love Kills” and surfy “Hand of Law”—before “New Race” conjures a tsunami.
