After massive speculation, a replacement of the Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy #Resnikov is apparently not imminent. "There will be no personnel changes in the defense sector this week," wrote parliamentary group leader of the presidential party Servants of the People, Davyd #Arakhamia, on Telegram. Arakhamia did not explain why Resnikov should remain in office for the time being.
So far, #Zelenskyy has not commented. #Resnikov had come under criticism after a series of scandals surrounding corruption and wasting money in his ministry.
Only late in the afternoon #Resnikov did declare that he would not vacate his seat until President #Zelenskyy asked him to do so. "According to the constitution, the decision whether someone becomes defense minister or not is made by one person - the Commander-in-Chief and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy," he said.
After speculation about the criticized Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy #Resnikov, the follow-up discussion has picked up full speed. The leader of the parliamentary faction of President Volodymyr #Zelenskyy's Servant of the People party, David #Arakhamiya, said on Telegram that Reznikov would be promoted to the post of Minister of Strategic Industry.
