On a professional level alone, I've always been uncomfortable with the privacy issues with Alexa and other AI personal assistants. There were regular pushes to use them in the library and every time the first thing proponents did was sideline the patron privacy concerns.

So it's pretty gratifying to see reports that these have actually been nothing more than artificially-useful information sponges the entire time.
