Last century was the turn of #chemistry and #biology which established our modern life and modes of production. Today is the turn of #genetics and it's truly a miracle to see. Already #sicklecellanemia has shown to be curable using #CRISPR and FDA approval is on the horizon.

While we need more ethical/ moral guidelines and #standardsofpractice I believe we're moving in the right direction.

It is difficult to have a sense of control of one's life and capacity to advocate and work for oneself when one is in constant pain, and often tethered geographically by their ability to get to the hospital in case of emergency. Plus, many would want to keep going to their preferred providers, so that results in a lot of staying near home.
