Tried the Storyhouse cinema for the first time last night. It’s teeny-tiny in there, but there’s some charm to that. I hope it finds a community focus and competes on its own terms; it can’t compete on blockbuster spectacle.

Sitting in the hospital's Urgent Care Centre with my swimming teacher daughter last night was like sitting in her own personal 'meet and greet' clinic. Barely a person passed through who hadn't either worked with her, been taught by her - or was currently being taught by her. Even the on-duty doctor's child was her pupil! Any child not yet known to her was being quietly earmarked as a potential future pupil. It made all the waiting around a bit more interesting!

Our library is now closed. Books in boxes. No idea when new library is opening (but the building hasn’t been completed yet). The streets around change slowly until suddenly they look very different. Thank you library
