Today's #BlorboFromMyShows is Mitsumi from the #anime series #SkipAndLoafer

She's hard-working, and capable, but she's got a tremendous heart too. The "travel to Tokyo for school" trope is one of my favorites for slice of life shows, and she's a stellar example of it. She's open to new experiences and isn't afraid of acting like a fool if it's in service to the people she loves.

I also love her character design! She's not really traditionally "moe" but she's still adorable all the same.

I'm done with #SkipAndLoafer which was just as adorable as I expected. Great high school romcom, though I think the whole conflict between Ririka and Shima felt rushed at the end. I wonder if the manga's pacing is better?

Anyway, this #anime is a definite highlight of the spring season. Recommended.

The OP for #SkipAndLoafer is delightful, one of the few that I find myself not skipping through because it's just a damn pleasure to watch, but then dance sequences in #anime openings always do that for me

"Skip and Loafer" by Misaki Takamatsu.

This is yet another shoujo high school manga, but a prime example of the genre. If you're only going to read one, this is a good choice.

Mistsumi is a plain girl (I love that she's *actually drawn that way*) from the sticks starting high school in Tokyo. Her friend Mika is kind of a bitch, but in a way you can understand; you'll root for her to be better. (Eventual love interest) Sousuke seems like a minor character from Oshi No Ko who found a way out and is taking refuge in a more sedate manga. His problems are the most complicated of the bunch. Well, except for Mistsumi's gender-queer aunt's.

It's ongoing in Japan, with seven of the eight volumes currently available in English (Seven Seas.) There's also an (equally good) anime that's currently airing on Crunchyroll.

Skip and Loafer is absolutely one of my favorites this season. I am in love with the characters, with the energy shown in the opening, with the way it flows. I love how it deals with how people are treated. I just. I am in love. This will be a watch ASAP show this season.

#AnimangaPictureChallenge - Topic: Dogs

I'm spending the weekend catching up with Skip & Loafer. It's just a coincidence but I only read the Manga, when I'm visiting my family. It's such a lovely, little story. Right now I'm around the point when they're exploring the past of the aunt a bit more. It's such a bittersweet story but the Manga is handling the topic very well. I'd say one of the best trans representations in Manga.
