Perhaps any big enough #socialNetwork resemble real life: every city has bad neighbourhoods, where we don't feel safe or at home. We learn to avoid bad people or dangerous zones. I have been asked to maintain our (#catholic) #parish page on #facebook and I found wonderful people there.

Just going to point out for the recent influx of #Twitter users and people from Twitter who haven't gotten the memo...

When you are talking about Twitter on here, you should call it Twitter. Don't just call it #BirdSite, #HellSite, #X, or any other euphemism, actually use the word "Twitter" Hashtag in your post.

That way, people who have posts about it blocked don't see it your post, and people who actually want to talk about Twitter will see it. The entire point of creating this #SocialNetwork was to get away from the drama of other #SocialNetworks. Those of us who want to talk about it are usually people with some background that makes it interesting to us, like people who've worked on internet stuff. There's no rule or algorithm that's going to slap you for openly talking about Twitter, but there are people who just don't want to hear about it right now.

Just call it what it is and give it the hashtag. Only exception should be mentioning that you got something from birdsite.

I'm nervous about a party tomorrow.
But if sis wants me to attend then I shall!

I just don't know how to engage strangers. I look up to those I know who are nice to talk to, they always have good questions and are able to insightfully follow up.

But yesterday I read that #Twitter has 300 million active users. There's only 2 million on Mastodon, which is the same as #TruthSocial.

The #Fediverse should have more people than #Trump's #socialNetwork
