Changes to #SocialStudies for middle school students were aprvd by the FL Brd of #Education, "Instruction includes how slaves developed skills which, in some instances, could be applied for their personal benefit."

Seems odd that the reviewer views this as “a fascinating idea”. We learned this in high school social studies in the 1960’s. Events since then have supported it. Perhaps they don’t teach “social studies” anymore? Perhaps they should.

For the tetrahedron, the answer is pretty clearly yes, as triangles can always be broken down into smaller triangles. The dodecahedron is a little more ambiguous, as you end up with three different shapes, which would make it exceeding difficult to plot location.

The obvious follow-up is, can a coordinate system be created for a non-regular polygon like the 14-sided example in the image?

We are learning about longitude and latitude in Grade 6 Social Studies. The question I gave my students was "Is it possible to create a coordinate grid system for non-spherical regular polygons?"
