The tawny mining bees (andrena fulva) are out and about right now. If you see little holes appear in your lawn, it might be one of these gorgeous ladies! (They won’t harm your lawn) #bees #SolitaryBee #pollinators #nature #NaturePhotography #wildlife

A solitary bee of the genus Megachile photographed at Compstall, Gtr Manchester in early August.
Day 2 - once upon a time I just thought of bees as honey and bumbles. Then I became a bit more educated and learned about the importance of the solitary bee. This patchwork leaf cutter bee seems quite happy with that fact. The first year I watched the females filling up the ‘hotel rooms’ I thought it couldn’t get any more amazing. The next year watching the new bees emerge proved me so wrong! #NatureAdventCalendar #AdventCalendar #Nature #photography #bees #SolitaryBee #SaveOurBees #Pollinators

Another beauty in my #terracegarden is the Woolly Wall Bee/ mason bee: #Megachile lanata. Another #solitarybee
This morning, as i sipped my coffee & watched Apis cerana drink from mustard plants, a Megachile came buzzing by. It circled me a few times & left :)
