eBird is running a competition in September where they ask people to upload at least 20 birding lists with 1 or more sound recordings.
I thought that it is a nice challenge, but I started a bit late. I am only at 4 recordings now (but I might have some more in Merlin).
This focusing on sound does produce some results however.

Might have found a solution to organize my field recording data in a +- automated way. Need to test this in a field session to see if it works. It uses an NFC antenna and one of those android automation tools. The result is a csv file containing all the data I currently need. I only have to tap the antenna with the phone and fill in a couple inputs. This will help organizing all the recordings in my library back home, no slates, no guess work.. #fieldrecoring #soundrecording #workflow

I've built a simple apparatus to measure synchronization between the audio and video tracks produced by cameras. Kind of an electronic clapper 🎬 but rotating: a precise event is filmed (image) and recorded (sound). I interpolate between successive positions of the LED to get the (fractional video) time when the arm touches the wire and compare it to the corresponding time clic in the sound file. #videoproduction #soundrecording #VideoPro #Maker

Another Wittgenstein sound recording trip today. Today I was in Cambridge. Firstly, Churchill College kindly allowed me to record in Storeys Way. Once home to Edward and Joan Bevan, it was Wittgenstein’s last residence. He died here in 1951 and then made the short journey along the road to his resting place in the Ascension Parish Burial Grounds. Then I headed to one of Wittgenstein’s other Cambridge homes, 4 Rose Crescent. A good day of discoveries and recording.
