I agree with the friendly atheist on the SBC. Russell Moore means well, but he doesn’t see that the moment requires total repudiation of a tradition that was begun so missionaries could own people. Abuse is a feature of the SBC.

I'd really like to think that the #SouthernBaptists being very overtly opposed to #women leadership is to their harm, their own irrelevance, their own weakness. Their problem.

But if it's part of a pattern of a more activist, muscular, public #conservatism trying to pull back (among other things) #WomensRights to a previous decade, or century ... then it's a problem for everyone.
