After a week unable to get stuck into gardening due to other responsibilities, I finally got into it today and worked hard. Feel so uplifted now. And garden is much tidier. Soil on my hands makes me feel so grounded, and in a way, more connected to the world.

I REALLY dislike “catching up” conversations and other such small talk, especially with people with whom I never really have any other interactions

I know social stuff is essential to the human experience, but I’m #ActuallyAutistic so the labor for me to engage in essentially superficial and VERY ephemeral interactions is just too much

I DO need to improve at cultivating social experiences around my #SpecialInterests but I am ok avoiding these other encounters

You'll often find me rambling about what I call the Ultimate #Mouseyverse Theory- trying to tie together the various Realms of EVERYTHING the mouse-opoly has slurped up and created. Animated movies. Shows. #Marvel, #Lucasfilm, and more.

It's been a complex undertaking, trying to determine timelines and such, but it's SO much fun.

Anybody read Richard C. Schwarz's NO BAD PARTS? Was recommended to me by a therapist friend because I was trying to describe how my attention and #SpecialInterests work, but it doesn't seem to describe my experience as she expected. Among other things, says most elements in consciousness are parts of personality accrued in childhood, but there is a "true" "Self" that's sort of underneath all that.

Slow processing & alexithymia are difficult sometimes! Yesterday I snapped at partner who was interrupting my knitting (haven't felt like doing my special interests in weeks& was starting of with something more difficult). I definitely had some sensory overload mixed in & was just so agitated & everything & everyone but that realisation came after the fact.
