We've had a good session again yesterday evening at skatehalle-berlin. I really enjoyed the whole day and evening. It was great. Met a few new people from San Francisco and we had a good time together 💜 🛹

TIL: Blunt to fakie!

I was so afraid of this trick - even if I was already able to do it on a curb... on a ramp I was really afraid of it. Don't know why... now it's quite easy for me... well, at least on a small quarter, but I guess there's no big difference to a bigger one. Next time I try it in the bowl then!! 🙂

For those who do not know what this trick is:

Imagine you ride with your board straight forward up on the transition of a ramp. When your front truck is near the coping you lift it up a little bit to avoid the bonk and go further. You still let the board's nose come a bit closer to you so that your back truck also dosn't get bonked by the coping and when the back truck has gone over the coping, you press the board with your front foot down, so that your back truck locks in on the top of the coping and then you stand in this position for a moment. That's a blunt, or more precisely a blunt stall.

Then you press the tail with your back foot and pull back your front foot so that the board's nose comes closer to you. This will release the back truck from the coping and you'll start to roll down on the ramp again. You keep the board close to you until you can push down the front truck so that it reaches the ramp, too and than you roll back in fakie.

That's blunt to fakie. Many people do blunt to rock to fakie, which is when you after blunt land with the board on the coping (rock'n roll - a.k.a. rock) and then just lift up the board and go back on the ramp. People say that's the easier one... I don't know, because I didn't try this variant.

Blunt to fakie worked directly on first try for me and I repeated it tonight about ten times and each worked fine. I like this trick a lot - it feels just great 🙂 Will do a recording next time.
