last week i hesitated grabbing a copy of far rainbow/second invasion from mars by #strugatsky brothers for $15 and i still feel like a goober today.

#newbookday one step closer to complete #strugatsky collection. #thefinalcircleofparadise is i believe the final Ivan Zhilin/pre-Noon novel. this leaves eight more total - Space Apprentice, Escape Attempt, Noon, Prisoners of Power/Inhabited Island (different translations of the same story), Beetle in the Anthill (both translations), and the upcoming The Waves Extinguish the Wind (new translation of The Time Wanderers). Hopefully I can find them all for... cheaper than this one was.

I've finished listening audiobook "Roadside Picnic" by Strugatsky brothers. That was an exciting and very heavy experience. It's like I've faced with the scary emptiness of the Space and... life? Not even the emptiness, but cold chaos, where everyone is not just alone, but also a part of this chaotic machine of indifference.
At the same time, it is written so good so I will read it again.
