Here's a couple additional photos from Swallow Falls State Park, as well as one shot from the road as we exited the park.
We're now on our final leg of the trip. We've traveled from PA to MD, and will now pass through WV and VA before we arrive in DC.

Swallow Falls State Park is a Maryland gem. The two main draws are Mudd Falls and Swallow Falls. The forest is covered in old growth hemlock and white pine, some estimated to be over 300 years old! There are also cool rock formations everywhere. The area contains claystones, siltstones, shales, and sandstones, and some beautiful wildflowers. Definitely worth doing the 2-mile loop hike around the gorge.

In English they’re called Swallow Falls, known in Welsh as Rhaeadr Ewynnol, which translates to “Foaming Waterfall”.
