Almost got something that brings me joy and the only reason why I even bother following the #sydneytohobart boat race. Of course my idea of a boat race involves 5 people and beers.
Hopefully today history will be changed.
If everything goes as planned, Kathy and Bridget's Currawong[1] will become the first two handed female crew[2] to complete #SydneytoHobart at the age of 70 and 62!
They are on FB and Instagram (search for 2birds2hobart on both platforms) and regardless of their results, drop them a note.
I am sure they will be delighted with messages commending their incredible journey.

Day 31 Stamp Challenge
Here is a photo of all the stamps used
In the centre is a stamp with the date 31st Jan 1975. It is not a first day but the message of the stamp went unheeded then, as now. In tiny letters it says, environment dangers.
Fools, (not you - the rest of us humans) on the 31st December I cannot find a first day issued stamp in my lot. The best I can do is a 3rd of January 1983 envelope celebrating the Sydney to Hobart boat race. A race won earlier this week a little after the day it started. Tasmania Fiesta, says the envelope. The stamp is incidental.
I might do this again but thanks to the person who prompted me to start this last month. Happy Old Year to you. May 2023 be a wonderful year for each of us.

Favourite Comanche in the lead. Why is the #SydneyToHobart always so predictable.
Loving the #SydneytoHobart tracker! 😀 Going to head down tomorrow night and watch someone take line honours!
Still don't get the #SydneyToHobart. If I wanted to see rich people not sleep for four days, I'd hang out in Double Bay
@40Below yes, i watched the coverage til it stopped. Yes, it was a bit crazy at the first yellow buoy but settled down to normal outside the heads.
I think i saw the James Craig, a tall ship part of the Sydney Heritage fFeet out at the heads, mixing it with the other spectator boats. That was nice. I went out on it once.
I hope the #SydneytoHobart is TAX deductible for the rich owners. Can’t be giving the peasantry free entertainment
