Last hand-stitching completed this morning (10 metres of bias binding, very slow, very meditative), very happy with this project. An excuse to use fabrics from my precious stash, in a project that I hope will be long-lasting.

Finished this project (early) this morning as a gift for a friend, the first time I've quilted a larger piece, really enjoyed the process, including making the bias to match the main fabric and even doing all the finishing by hand so the jacket is reversible. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to sew the pockets, which is against my principles*.

This #TamarackJacket #sewing project occupied much of my weekend. For me, sewing garments is a meditative process. Being a novice I can’t go too fast, anyway, or risk mistakes. I also end up bleeding from a pin or needle almost every session. Any folklore out there with elements of both sewing and sacrifice? I learned about ambulatory church bell folktales today, so now it seems anything is possible.
