Vanaf juni 1975 maakt hij deel uit van #DeepPurple, waar hij de plaats van #RitchieBlackmore inneemt tot het stopzetten van de band.
In 1975 en 1976 brengt hij twee soloalbums uit, trekt op tournee en na de eerste avond overlijdt hij aan een overdosis heroïne

Also in Dec-1997, the Tommy Bolin Archives released TBACD-8/9, ‘Tommy Bolin - 1976: In His Own Words‘, 2CDs culled with 5 different interviews from 1976. Interesting to hear his oppinion on subjects, like DP‘s break-up, starting solo , touring, etc. #tommybolin

Dec-1997, TBACD-7, the 7th release of the Tommy Bolin Archives was ‚‘From The Achives Volume Two‘. As with TBACD-1, it was later rel. on Zebra Records (1998), with reverb added massively - too much for my taste, I prefer the original TBA releases. #tommybolin

In Dec-1997, the 6th rel. of the TBA was ‚Zephyr - Live At Art's Bar And Grill May 2, 1973‘. Tommy and Bobby Berge left Zephyr in early 1971 to form Energy, but played reunion shows in 1973. In Aug-1973, Tommy became a member of The James Gang. #tommybolin

TBACD-5, the fifth release of the TBA was ‚The 1996 Tommy Bolin Tribute Concert‘, rel. in May 1996. Recorded live on Aug-24/25-1995 at Denver's Bluebird Theater, it featured Johnnie Bolin, Stanley Sheldon, Bobby Berge, Jeff Cook, Michael Reese. #tommybolin

The fourth May 1996 release of the Tommy Bolin Archives was TBACD-4, ‚Live At The The Northern Lights Recording Studio September 22, 1976‘. Recorded for WBCN Radio, it features Johnnie Bolin on drums. #tommybolin

The third release of the Tommy Bolin Archives in May 1996 was TBACD-3, ‚The Bottom Shelf - Volume One‘. It features an eclectic combination of rare live performances, acoustic demos, jams, and ideas in progress. A collector‘s dream. #tommybolin

The second release of the Tommy Bolin Archives in May 1996 was TBACD-2, ‚Tommy Bolin Band - Live At Ebbets Field May 13, 1976‘, taken from a radio broadcast tape. It’s the first incarnation of the Tommy Bolin Band. #tommybolin

After the ‚appetizer‘ ‚From The Archives Vol. 1‘, the first Tommy Bolin Archives TBA release came in May of 1996. TBACD-1 was ‚Live At Ebbets Field June 3 & 4, 1974‘. Re-released by Zebra Records in 1999, with more reverb added to the mix. #tommybolin

On Jan-23, 1996, 27 yrs ago, the first release by the Tommy Bolin Archives came out. ‚From The Archives Vol. 1‘ appeared on Rhino Rec. in the US, on RPM in the UK. The two releases have different artwork, but contain the same music. #tommybolin
