20 Metre Trees says: "Looking after and retaining our established trees is really important. Sometimes, it isn’t the easiest task but is certainly worth the effort. The massive tree (at the back of this picture) has recently been preserved, with the area around it upgraded as part of the footpath renewal project at Fulton Place, Clarence Gardens.
The tree had pushed up the old footpath, causing water to flood a resident’s driveway during heavy rain. The upgraded footpath and road surface around the tree are now permeable, allowing stormwater to get down into the soil easier. The tree will be accompanied with some new native plants and other landscaping, helping it thrive into the future.
