Hello friends!
Apologies for my recent absence.
I've been working through a rather unexpected redundancy situation at work that completely blindsided me. Not my first rodeo though!
I've not managed to get out all that much as a result but I did experience the fantastic wintery conditions we've had in the Borders with 7" or snow and the temperatures dropping to -13.
I'm excited to get back to Canmore updates; as well as the odd picture here and there!
Today’s foggy walk. It’s absolutely freezing too. #fog #tweedvalley #mist #scottishborders

The sky seemed to be on fire on my walk around the fields.

Whether I've been glued to the Guardian's rolling coverage of the US mid-terms, watching the daily absurdity and impending collapse of Twitter, or getting nervous about COP 27, this week has been a rollercoaster of things I wish I didn't care so much about but clearly do. As always, just a few minutes of walking among nature has helped to ease my anxieties somewhat. I even managed this picture of one of the local Red Squirrels.
I hope you're all good!

Today is the last day to apply to volunteer at the #Worlds in Scotland next year: https://www.cyclingworldchamps.com/get-involved/volunteer-with-us/apply-to-volunteer/?utm_source=twitter_cwc&utm_medium=social
It's not all based in Glasgow - #DH is at Fort William; #XC and #XCM in the #TweedValley

A few mornings ago I managed an early rise and caught a cloud inversion at Thornielee. Cloud inversions aren't uncommon in the Tweed Valley, though getting enough good light in late October is always a struggle! Landscapes aren't my thing but happy I can get a somewhat decent image.
