A couple of accounts on this instance publish local news, views and events. The major source was #Twitter - traditional home to breaking news everywhere.
Except over the last few days the local content has dropped of a cliff. Maybe #Tweeters have gone on their holidays or just gone off. The local press is no substitute. They have been reduced to mostly re-publishing relevant news tweets.
Thanks #Elon. However, maybe an even greater loss to you than to us.
OCCASIONAL MINIMISERS
𧾠These #tweeters say a lot of things that are true - e.g. "vaccines work" or basic biology that's factually actuate - but are prone to some distorted priorities or occasional motivated reasoning.
A toot in memory of #Twitterdom #Tweeters whose #tweets went untweeted and are now in existential meltdown.
A Promax Super Jumbo #boombox used as a prop by the character Radio Raheem in the Spike Lee directed picture, "Do the Right Thing". The boombox includes a dual audio cassette tape deck, an #equalizer section, radio dial, colored light display, and a pair each of 8" #subwoofers, midranges, and #tweeters

It's up to us to keep #Mastodon going. Before all you #tweeters go flying back to nest, just remember the reason you deserted in the first place. By all accounts your worst fears about #Twitter have materialised.
Mastodon is not difficult. I suspect the real reason many have gone back to Twitter is because they're concerned they don't have many followers here.
The Guardian: Elon Musk drove more than a million people to Mastodon â but many arenât sticking around.

Indeed! Government can't control what a private entity does. But the people can totally #migrate away in #protest, including the prominent #tweeters.

No. @elonmusk way overpaid for Twitter and he can basically do whatever he wants with it. The First Amendment prevents Congress from regulating speech on Twitter, a private business. It is not Governmentâs role to tell Twitter who to ban, who to suspend or who to promote. httpâŚ

At least all my fellow #tweeters are bumping around here a bit lost like me - any advice from #savvy #Mastodons appreciated!
