I really think this little girl in my #daycare class is gonna grow up #undiagnosed and only realize she's #autistic as an adult. She spends the day wandering around the classroom telling random corners of the room "Smell you later PJ-Pests! Smell you later PJ-Pests! Smell you later PJ-Pests!" and has a meltdown whenever another kid tries to play with her. Not typical symptoms, so maybe she's got something else, or maybe she is just a really frigging spoiled child? But I see myself in her a bit.

I was raised to think that I was responsible to assure that my #mother was happy. My poor #father likely suffered from #undiagnosed #PTSD from it

Well, now that my #amnesia (et al) is at the stage it’s in, the only things I #remember about someone are my most recent experiences with them. How can she ( #abuse) possibly look to me?

Fascinating. Neurologist called with kiddo's MRI results. Basic back ok but "weird signals in neck area". Asked if she had thyroid issues (yes, hashimoto). Beyond his expertise.

I'm excited to have another clue for her undiagnosed chronic illness.

Well it finally happened - I forgot how old I am (38, my wife has reminded me). I've been forgetting where the plates and glasses are in my own home for pretty much my whole life, but this is a new milestone in #gettingold or maybe #undiagnosed #ADHD

poor kid pulled a muscle trying to get back in bed. now got them propped up with pillows, heating pad and muscle relaxer. Neuro said her back muscles were <really> tight at appt for back pain Dec 23.

I, too, had my interest align with decently paying jobs. Still #undiagnosed at the time, I #masked my way through university. I hope we can guide our son similarly. 🤞🤞

It sucks being emotionally triggered by pain and sickness, because I’m so often in pain and sick.
It drives my anxiety through the roof, being not sure why I’m debilitated. And my doctor says there’s nothing she can do until I’m on meds for my mental health, which sucks because my mental health is definitely not the sole cause.

Studying with my #undiagnosed #adhd:

In Finland we have this mandatory Swedish course in uni studies that has a spoken exam where no notes are allowed.

You just have to be able to produce 15 minutes of discussion from the top of your head with the vocabulary that has been covered in the course (typically your own field of study).

I struggle immensely with this, because I form no lasting memory of this new vocabulary even though I "can speak the language" just fine if I have my notes. 1/

The reason why I am talking about this is that this is what #undiagnosed #adhd looks like. This is what it does and this is what happens to people.

This is as person who has struggled since childhood, almost killed himself because of risk taking several times, best friends with poverty, bad relationships and all the things. But over time learned to avoid the most severe stuff. He is however spent, so spent. And seems to never get a break, at all.

Like, the impostor syndrome is so strong, with all the different discussions around stuff like #depression and #autism, for example.

But when you do not have a way (yet) to be diagnosed, what should you say about yourself?

When all the symptoms are there, when all the tests (not official, of course) give you strong hints, this is more like a need to diagnose a, I don't know, missing hand. You know you don't have it, but should it be official?
