Tidying Up
When I finished the dwelling ritual I took the time to place my few belongings where they should go.
Tidying Up
Thankfully most homes set aside for us witches have the basics like dishes and cooking utensils and sometimes former residents would also leave supplies behind as some things just don’t travel well. I began in the bedroom because most of my more fragile items ended up wrapped in my spare clothing I bought with me. It was almost meditative, taking out each rolled up piece of clothing or folded up article to reveal what lay within as I placed items in the closet and cleverly designed drawers in the stone walls of the room. Some of my decorative items, like the little clear glass cat figurine, I played on a shelf of the room next to a little lantern that would make it glow and sparkle when it was lit.
Once my clothes, blanket and other articles were put away I gathered up the few kitchen items and moved to store them away. I had my favorite teacup and saucer, a powder blue affair with gamboling multi-colored kittens chasing a ball of yarn on it and the saucer, my travel-sized cauldron I had specifically bought because it was portable and incidentally made a wonderful stew pot while rambling around the countryside and a few of my specially chosen utensils and tools.
Once those items were put just so I moved to the main living area where I set up my most precious possession. I opened the window just a little bit and hung the bone, wood and stone wind chimes I had crafted with my own hands throughout my training in such a way to catch the faint breeze coming in the window.
Finally I unfolded a rather cleverly made altar table that was basically a round shallow box with legs that folded up beneath it. It had drawers all around its three inch high table top to store things that could be carefully latched for travel. It was only a foot across, but it was beautifully carved and stained a glowing reddish brown with an extraordinarily smooth top that was shiny enough to almost clearly reflect anyone looking into it.
I took my time placing items on it at the four cardinal directions and two candles in simple crystal holders. Everything else was kept carefully stored inside of its velvet-lined drawers for safekeeping.
It looked far less bare once I hung a tapestry or two Ihad brought with me and it began to feel somewhat more like home once everything was placed just right. Only time will tell if this is absolutely where I want to spend my time and my life. For now, I am hopeful and can’t wait to begin meeting people and helping them with whatever I may be able to.
Quando il viaggiatore si è seduto sulla sabbia della spiaggia e ha detto: "Non c'è altro da vedere", sapeva che non era vero.

There really is a part of the world where the roads are called Daisy lane, Wood lane, Hall lane, Bleak lane, Moss lane, School lane, Briar's lane, Blythe lane, Hobcross lane, Lowrey lane, Course lane, and so on. The Leeds & Liverpool canal runs through it, near the villages of Hoscar and Lathom.

A nice reconstructed #thatch #village near Kilarney, Co. Kerry.
Thatch and tourism go well together in Ireland and the thatch cottages generate a considerable amount of money.
Why can't local authorities in Ireland pay more attention to the few remaining genuine thatch cottages that we have left?
They are hundreds of years old and we only have a few hundred left?
