On 16th Jan 1793, King Louis XVI of France was sentenced to death by The National Convention of France. He met Madame Guillotine on Place de la Révolution on 21st Jan.
Cecile Agathe Adelaide Riquet de Carmen was "compelled by the French Revolution to... quit her native Country". She "... took refuge in this hospitable land", or to be more precise, Bath, where she died in 1847. Her memorial stone can be seen in the @OldTheatreRoyal museum vaults.
