Frederick the Great of Prussia, Freemason, patron of the Enlightenment, almost wed George II's daughter, but politics got in the way. Accused of treason with his gay lover Han Hermann von Katte. Forced to watch Katte's execution. Released from enforced "Statecraft" education 26 Feb 1732.

On 16th Jan 1793, King Louis XVI of France was sentenced to death by The National Convention of France. He met Madame Guillotine on Place de la Révolution on 21st Jan.

Cecile Agathe Adelaide Riquet de Carmen was "compelled by the French Revolution to... quit her native Country". She "... took refuge in this hospitable land", or to be more precise, Bath, where she died in 1847. Her memorial stone can be seen in the @OldTheatreRoyal museum vaults.
