We are in the #longNovember. This is the 6th day in a row with temperatures never dipping below freezing, and in the last two weeks we’ve seen temps in the 60s (F). New England should be reliably in the 20s or colder.
These are the only two patches of natural ice and snow on #WachusettMountain365 in a region that averaged between 50 and 80 inches each Winter.
I had a conversation with a colleague walking into work this morning. “I’m only 31 and even I can tell something’s wrong.”

If you listen, very carefully, you can hear the sound of a warm front moving in at altitude. Temperatures were well below freezing at the base, but near the summit ice and snow is melting off tree branches and cascading onto the trail.

I know dozens of people who climb #WachusettMountain365 every morning for a free run hours before the mountain opens for business. They are taking back ski culture.
