Just read ‘The Green Room’ by Walter de la Mare, 1930. A highly effective, quite traditional ghost story – who is the revenant, and why can't she rest? The setting is a secondhand bookshop with three open rooms: the shop proper; a back parlour where some special rarities are kept; and an empty upper bedroom. There's such a strong sense of how these rooms look, smell and feel. Of the dust and damp. #ShortStories #GhostStories #WalterDeLaMare
